Diana M. Guelespe, M. A., Board Member, is a PhD Candidate in the Sociology Department at Loyola University Chicago. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology and Master of Arts Degree in Political Science from Northeastern Illinois University.
Since 1996, Diana has managed education and civic participation projects for immigrants through community-based organizations. Under her direction, these education projects have assisted thousands of immigrants in improving their English language skills and becoming civically involved in their community. This includes learning about life in the United States, identifying issues of concern in their community and voicing their opinions on current topics. Many students from these classes have gone on to become naturalized U.S. citizens, registered voters and active leaders in their community.
